Hello there! My name is Matthew Marniella — but creatively I go by Matthew Patrick (Patrick is my middle name). Nobody, including my family, can agree on how to pronounce my last name, so this keeps things simple.

I’m a Cleveland native now based in Nashville, working as a freelance designer focused on branding, music packaging, promotional material, and poster/flyer design.

My creative journey began in music — producing records and collaborating with artists. When they needed cover art, I started designing for them and quickly realized design was what I wanted to pursue full time. That musical background still shapes my approach today, grounding my work in storytelling, authenticity, and uniqueness.

Over the past five and a half years, I’ve explored the intersection of music, culture, and design, building work that feels thoughtful and impactful. My curiosity drives me to experiment with new styles, layouts, and approaches, constantly developing my skills. While I have some formal design education, most of my growth has come from hands-on experience, trial and error, and self-directed learning — which has strengthened my creative problem-solving.

Nothing makes me happier than working with artists, labels, and brands to bring ideas to life with intention and personality. I find my joy in the creative journey itself — getting to know the clients I work with, helping illustrate who they are and what they represent, seeing ideas evolve, identities take shape, and collaborative efforts come to life — rather than only in the final product. My goal is to add value through work that connects culture and design, and to be part of projects that make an impact.

Outside of design, I’m usually making music, hanging out with my cat, or patiently waiting for Severance season 3 to come out.

Don’t be a stranger — let’s work together!
